Vote to RE-Elect - Albert Gonzalez

About Albert Gonzalez
My name is Albert Gonzalez, I was born in Southern California (Los Angeles, to be exact) and raised in the East Bay city of Concord.  After graduating from Concord High School, I moved to San Luis Obispo and entered the California Polytechnic State University's Engineering Department as an undergrad.  While at Cal Poly, I dedicated much of my time to tutoring, mentoring, and organizing campus visits for at-risk students in the surrounding cities.
Within a matter of time I became involved in school politics.  I joined the Speakers Forum Committee and soon after I was elected to the Associated Student's Inc. Board,  where I represented Cal Poly's Engineering Department.  It was in these roles that I sharpened most of my leadership skills and tested my time management skills.  I was successful at handling my academic responsibilities along with my duties as an active board member.
I met my wife while a student at Cal Poly.  She was an undergrad in the Architectural Engineering Department.   We both earned our Bachelor's Degrees in Engineering and she also earned a teaching credential in math.  We moved to the South Bay, were married, and embarked on the next step in our lives.  She accepted a job at Wilcox High School and I became one of the many engineers to join the Silicon Valley workforce.
In December of 1999, we purchased our first home and agreed that we were ready for parenthood.  We were blessed with our first son in 2001, our second in 2003, and our third in 2005.  My sons have reinforced my passion for being an
advocate for children.
All children must be provided with the opportunity to receive a quality education.  Their opportunities today, or lack thereof, will directly influence their future, as well as the future of our community as a whole.  Below is a list of some of my involvement in helping tomorrow's future:
